Welcome to StatementMap. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our PDF-to-Excel conversion services.
The Core Promise: We operate on a Zero-Storage Policy regarding your financial documents. Files uploaded for conversion are processed in-memory (RAM) and are permanently deleted immediately after processing. We do not store, view, or mine your bank statements.
2. Information We Collect
A. Account Information
When you sign up, we collect:
- Identity Data: Email address, name, and profile picture (via Clerk Authentication).
- Usage Data: Number of pages processed, subscription status, and plan limits.
- Payment Data: We do not store your credit card details. Payments are processed by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy. We only receive transaction status updates (Success/Fail).
B. File Data (The "Zero-Storage" Policy)
When you upload a bank statement:
- The file is transmitted securely via SSL encryption.
- The file is processed in temporary memory (RAM) by our AI engine.
- The extracted data is sent back to your browser.
- The file is immediately wiped from our processing servers.
We do not create database records of your financial transactions, balances, or account numbers.
C. Local Browser Storage (Drafts)
By default, your data exists only in RAM. However, if you explicitly click the "Save Draft" button, the application will save a copy of your extracted data to your browser's Local Storage on your own device.
This data stays on your device; it is never uploaded to our servers or database. You can delete this draft at any time by clicking "Delete Draft" or clearing your browser cache.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service (converting your files).
- To manage your account and subscription.
- To provide customer support.
- To prevent fraud or abuse of our system.
4. Third-Party Subprocessors
We use trusted third-party services to operate our infrastructure. By using StatementMap, you acknowledge the use of:
- Clerk: For user authentication.
- Supabase: For database management (User accounts and usage limits only).
- OpenAI: For AI processing. We use the Business API, ensuring your data is NOT used to train their models and is not retained by them.
- Lemon Squeezy: For payment processing (Merchant of Record).
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data in transit. Because we do not store your files at rest, there is no "database of bank statements" that can be hacked.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold (Account details).
- Request deletion of your account.
- Export your account data.
